Latest Mozy Online Backup Posts

Looking back it has been one year since I started talking about Mozy online backup. The first post I made about Mozy was on September 5, 2007. I actually started using Mozy before that time but that is when I started talking about it here. I am sure there have been times over the last year that I have sounded like a broken record that just keeps skipping (Funny how sayings stick with you, do people born after CD’s took over understand that. But I digress) over and over again. You could probably subscribe to my blog and every time I post about Mozy use that to remind you to do your backup. If you have ever lost data because of a dead hard drive or a virus or any number of reasons you know how important it is to make sure you have a backup of your most important data. Digital cameras are great, unless the hard drive where all your photos are stored dies, then all your photos are gone. You love your work but do you really want to redo all of your accounting from the last six months if your Simply Accounting files disappear? Mozy online backup is like insurance, you hope you never have to use it, but it will sure feel good to have it if your hard drive dies and all of your precious data is gone with it.

The thing is before I decided on Mozy I tried several of the online backup companies. I checked out Carbonite (they have a nice free 15 day trial), iDrive, Elephant Drive and Jungle Disk. To be honest they are all good systems to backup your data online. Personally I don’t care if you use Mozy or Carbonite or Elephant Drive or another online backup solution, but I do hope that you will backup your data before you lose it. I choose Mozy because it worked well for me, offered me a chance to help some of my local clients as a reseller and it was affordable for my business. I hope that in the last year of my babbling on about online backup you will do something about it. Give Mozy a try or Carbonite or iDrive or Elephant Drive or Jungle Disk. Just make sure your data is backed up!
