A new group blog called Collective Thoughts has a great post titled “Webmaster, stop being so AntiSocial!!“. It makes some good points about how the web has changed from being a lot of lone guns trying to out do each other to becoming a place of social interaction. In order for webmasters to keep up and not be left behind they need to take part in the web and come out from behind the scenes.

The new web is about relationships and taking part in communities. If you are a webmaster like me you need to get out there and take part in the new web or you risk losing everything that you have worked hard to create. Some of the suggested ways of taking part include:

• Blogging
• Social Networking – (StumbleUpon, FaceBook, Twitter)
• Social Bookmarking – (del.icio.us, Diigo, blinklist)
• Message Boards and Forums – (Cre8asite)
• Answer Services – (Yahoo! Answers, Answers.com)
• Video Sharing – (YouTube, Jumpcut)
• Photo Sharing – (Flickr, PhotoBucket)
• Commenting (on other blogs and responding to comments on your blog)
